Hi, my name is Marianne Loose and I joined the Whipcord team in November 2018. I was born and raised in a small town of 302 people (301 since I moved), nestled in the foothills of Alberta’s Rocky Mountains. Glenwood is not only known as the “cheese town” for its cheese factory and museum, but also for its rich agricultural community. After graduating from high school, I moved to Calgary and it has been home for me ever since.
In my spare time I enjoy baking, ranging from my famous lemon squares, an assembly line of cookies at Christmas to cakes for family birthdays. During the summer months I'm part of a ladies golf league and, despite my frequent playing, I still find myself trying to find the fairway from the trees where I can hear my grandpa’s voice telling me “hit the damn ball straight!” When I’m not golfing, you can usually find me in Waterton Lakes National Park camping in a vintage, circa 1985, 35’ fifth wheel trailer playing Dutch Blitz with family, kayaking on the lake and hiking the many trails. I'm also a self-proclaimed Seinfeld aficionado… which means I know a lot about nothing.
I LOVE to organize things. Anything from colour-coding my closet to reorganizing my storage room or kitchen cupboards, I just love making things more functional and streamlined; if you need it organized, I’m your gal! It was my love of organization and my compulsive need for time management that enabled me to attend Mount Royal College and SAIT while working full time; I'm confident these nerdy skills will only benefit my role here at Whipcord.
